The reconstitution conditions are found on the product webpage and are available to download as a datasheet pdf document. To find your product webpage, use our search tool and enter the catalog number.
We have found the added stability during storage and shipment afforded by lyophilization outweighs the extra step of reconstitution and aliquoting the product before use. Please be aware that a pellet may not be visible due to 1) the type of buffer used during the lyophilization process or 2) the product drying down as a thin film on the inner walls of the vial. However, it is recommended to centrifuge or tap the vial to assist any loose material in the vial to resettle at the bottom of the vial before removing the cap. Then, proceed with following the reconstitution instructions on the product webpage or pdf datasheet. After adding the recommended reconstitution buffer, the vial may be allowed to sit for a few minutes at room temperature to allow solubilization of the protein. Do not aggressively vortex or pipette the protein in the buffer (avoid foaming). Now the product can be aliquoted for future use and stored according to the product webpage and pdf datasheet.
While aseptic conditions are maintained during bottling and handling, the recombinant proteins are not labeled and guaranteed as sterile. It is recommended to perform sterile liquid filtration with a 0.2 micron filter after dilution in media or the working buffer.
The storage conditions for our products upon receipt are provided on the product label. Further storage information upon opening and reconstituting our products and kit components are found on product webpage, and pdf datasheet.
Certain components in the cell culture medium and supplements are sensitive to long-term exposure to light in a manner that could negatively impact the performance of the medium and/or supplements. The short-term exposure to light during normal handling is expected to have no perceptible effect. Please note the storage conditions on product webpages, labels and pdf datasheets where we will state “protect from light” when applicable.
The precoated 96-well ELISA plates in the ELISA kits have removable strips of wells. Unused strips of wells may be removed from the plate frame and stored in the sealed ELISA plate pouch at 2-8°C, according to the product insert.
Samples values above the standard curve should be diluted with the dilution buffer and multiplied by the dilution factor upon calculating the values based on the standard curve. The standard curve range has been optimized for performance and the addition of concentrations above or below this range may return inconsistent results.
The kit is suitable for separation and identification of proteins between 10-250 kDa without adjusting the resolving gel concentration.
